wtf? someone better touch base w/ Rodney Hubert.
So according to the article, Hall is an NCAA qualifier. I thought we were past these kinds of things.

The article mentions an appeals process, but Hall didn't seem to indicate that he would be appealing. We'll probably never know what kept him out, but if he's not going to appeal it, I would guess that he feels confident that he won't win the appeal. There's a reason for this and it's between the athlete and the school.

This sucks. What about all of Orsini's statements that if an athlete is NCAA-eligible, he or she is eligible at SMU?
It's not just that we're thin at safety, which we are. But Hall and his coach sound completely blindsided by this decision (and I agree, there's no way we'll ever know the reason).
This makes it look even smarter that we signed a few extra guys this year.

That was what Orsini was told, once again, this is a Turner issue.

Are you sure? I can't imagine the president of the entire university would have time in his schedule to rule on individual admissions cases. I would assume there is some sort of faculty committee for academic close calls or something.

could be. I re-read the article and SMU says he was denied admission not that that he was not academically cleared. Its really the first guy in recent years where we can view as a test case other than the JUCO via the Peniteniary. It will be interesting to see if he qualifies at another school.
