There are some who really get into uniforms (see school colors debates) and uniform numbers. For those of you who qualify:

A couple of veterans will be wearing new numbers this fall.
8 — Taylor Thompson
9 — Marquis Frazier

As for the newcomers (or at least those I have confirmed are on campus):
1 — Chris Parks (high school number)
7 — Darryl Fields
12 — Steve Kaiser (high school number)
17 — Jeremy Johnson
22 — Hayden Greenbauer
25 — Kenneth Acker
26 — Kyle Guinard
27 — Richard Crawford
29 — Kevin Pope
30 — Justin Sorrell
35 — Uchenna Nwabuike
36 — Der'Rikk Thompson
41 — Forrest Hagar
43 — Anthony Beard
46 — John Bordano (high school number)
47 — Randall Joyner
50 — Ben Hughes
58 — Christian Miller
61 — Mike Loftus
75 — Ashton Duhe
81 — Keenan Holman
97 — Mike O'Guin
99 — Ben Gottschalk

Sorry ...

7 — Darryl Fields

(Fixed original post)

and I'm pretty confident Gottschalk is still playing offensive line.

Nice. Single-digit numbers look good on defensive linemen.

From Wikipedia:

n college football, a less rigid numbering system is employed. The only rule is that members of the offensive line (centers, guards, and tackles) that play in ineligible positions (those that may not receive forward passes) must wear numbers between 50-79.

Thanks. I guess I was a little jumpy with the academic casualties.

I count 23-also missing Darryl Jackson in addition to Jeremy Hall, Rickey Scott, Arthur Londy, Brandon Thornton, Maurice Sutton and Joseph Theard

I hope Darryl Jackson isnt missing because he will be one of the "academic casualties" we hear about later. He is a big guy that is gonna become a nice tackle.
