In many ways, depending on how this supposed "resolution" that people keep saying is coming today turns out, "Pony Regress" may be more interesting than "Pony Excess".

And I can't and won't speak for June Jones - I have no idea what's going on at this point as I have taken a much needed mental break from SMU football for the last two weeks or so (never thought I would need a much needed break from SMU football) - but I will say this he's working everyday for us fans. He knows that he is still up against it in terms of breaking down the remaining vestiges of the response to the DP.

I've said this a lot (probably not on this board) the staff he has, and June himself of course, are such impressive individuals, such impressive intellects... I think there needs to be a way to introduce them to the university structure as a whole. I can't tell you how impressed I am with the intellect, well beyond football, these guys have.

This stuff is disappointing and a setback for sure, but the sky is not falling. I'm not being a sunshiner here when I say this. I'm being practical. Sure our record might not be as good next year, but JJ surprised us last year. I'm willing to ride it out.

But then again, I am living SMU football everyday in a very visceral way. Some days it's even 1982 for me.... and those are great days.
