What portable power source can you recommend for just a 42" Vizio TV?

What internet work around have you used rather than satellite for ESPN and college sports network.

Any intelligent suggestions would be appreciated

I have a 4G wireless Sprint connection.

The little green light posts on the boulevard have outlets on them. We used those all last season and beat the heck out of the loud generators.

We also used a dish on a tripod last year. I had less problems getting the dish working than we did struggling to get a signal with digital antenna.

One internet solution would be using a slingbox, but I know that (and probably any other internet based option), will produce less than desirable results when played on a 42in TV.

the human hamster wheel is a very green alternative power source!! ...pleeeeedge!!!!

as mentioned above, there are power posts all along the 'vard. just make sure to get there early, and always bring a power strip so others can use it too.

So all vard spots have power outlets, or just the ones north of Binkley? This is fantastic news thank you. I am on the corner of Bishop & Binkley diagonally across the St. from the Mustang Club this year.

I have a dish net work account .

I wonder if I can just disconnect my dish from the casa unplug my box and bring it up.
Do you just drink beer and point till you get a signal????

there's not power by every spot, but the little green power posts are every 4 or 5 spaces. that's why i suggested bringing a power strip so that if someone is already plugged in, you can share the outlet.

Point taken and a long extension cord would come in handy as well I assume.

How many people were plugged into the posts last year?

With the shifting of spots, there is a chance we might be close enough to run a cord to one of the posts. This presents some exciting possibilities. My only fear is everyone plugs in and blows the whole thing.

Also, back to part of the original post, how hard is it to get the satelite working?

Slingbox is great for tailgating as long as you have a laptop with an HD compatible video card and a way to wirelessly connect, (which you do with your sprint card). Slingbox is just a one time fee between 200-300 dollars (depending on the quality of the box you get) and you can take advantage of your home cable/dish subscriptions.

Very easy to use without the hassle or cost of a dish subsrciption/setup.

Edit: also, a top of the line HD video card is not an absolute necessity, the quality is still pretty good with just a run of the mill video card using either A/V or S video inputs, of course, HDMI is always nice!

Its really not bad getting a signal. But yes, just power up, drink a beer, and move it around until the signal strength gets to where it needs to be under your setup menu. I set up the dish across the street in front of Perkins to make sure we have a clear view of the Southern sky. Some folks have a tough time getting it through the trees on the blvd.

See above on the dish. I'd be glad to help you guys if you have questions. It seems like around 3 to 4 groups used each post. If i remember correctly, the posts each have 4 outlets on them. We had to run about 30 feet of extension cord to ours, and our neighbor piggy backed us with a strip.

ALSO!! Makes sure when you buy your tripod dish that you get the proper one if you want HD or multiple boxes. A lot of the ones people sell advertise crap like "great for camping & tailgating" are just a basic 1 LNB dish and won't support HD or multiple sources.

The best one DirecTV uses is the new slimline, but I would check with someone that knows Dish Network installation.

ETA: Posts are permanent if you want to scope them out.

Yes, you should be good there. Might give it a drive-by to be sure though.
