I have it on the highest authority that Statler went on a Recon Mission to scout out the situation in Lubbock this weekend. I am sure that he will have a full report on his activities behind enemy lines. Also I expect an account of any thrilling pre-game action available in West Texas.
And of course the best post game activity is summed up in the Mac Davis Song "Happiness is Lubbock In the Rear View Mirror."

Sorry I have not posted my scouting report earlier.....The change in altitude getting off the "Caprock" can inhibit one's perception.

Here is the "scouting report:"

1. Be sure and equalize pressure in your ears when driving up the "Caprock."

2. The brand new fangled highway (62/82) is real purdy, goes right by that new fangled "improved" stadium, but doesn't connect to I-27. So if want to get out of town real quick towards Lamesa..it's a go!

3. There is very nice "Double T" sign on the downtown Wells Fargo Bank Building.

4. Shiner beer is consider a great tasting import beer.

5. The torilla factories and tacquerias are gearing for mass production for tortilla throwing on game day.

6. Buddy Holly and Mac Davis have a street named after them.

7. They have had a "lotta rain" this summer.

8. The stadium has a new club that nobody can get into.

9. They didn't need to water the tree in Lubbock so far due to all the rain.

10. Pray that the South Wind does not blow at game time or you'll get to have that Lubbock smell from the stockyards.

That is all
