Has this been discussed ad nauseum?

I was just rolling through twitter and saw June's little announcement regarding the Honorary Chairman...Ron Meyer (!)

As far as I can recall, this is the first time I have heard Ron Meyer's name associated with SMU post-DP.

Also note the website refers to the 30th anniversary of the 1981 National Championship Football Team.
