Heard for the first time today a "buzzing up Peruna" spot on The Ticket (1310am), promoting the upcoming season, JJ, bowl-proven team, and the games on the radio. I just got a little excited. :P

I heard a spot on the Ticket talking about SMU football with the sound of the band in the background.

What I also heard them say was their weekly CUSA / SMU radio show would start this Sunday at 4:30 -- pretty sure I heard that right -- I was in heavy traffic trying to perform an illegal maneuver at the time.

I think it's a one-shot C-USA preview show this Sunday. At least, that's what the promo made it sound like. Either way, it has been nice to hear Peruna blaring through my radio during commercial breaks the past few days.

According to this article, the Sunday show is actually the live feed from the CUSA Media Day.

Anderson hopes to heighten the fan interest/participation. He said a 90-minute radio show emanating from the Hilton will be offered to the flagship stations of each of the 12 league schools.

''It will also be offered in some non-conference markets,'' he said. ''With the show (airing) from 4:30 to 6 (p.m. CDT), we think there's a good chance it will clear in a lot of markets.''

Kind of sad we can't get TV coverage. CSTV is showing a rerun of w-bball or something. You'd think they would be starving for original content over there this time of the year.

I haven't heard any SMU commercials on WRR today.
