Based on the year end Sagarin Predictor ratings, here's how the numbers predict SMU's season by result and margin of victory/loss. Interesting that the only really close game is a loss. All of the wins are by over five points:

Team Location Result Margin
Tech Away L -18.1
UAB Home W 10.1
W. State Home W 19.6
TCU Home L -18.0
Rice Away W 16.5
Tulsa Home W 6.8
Navy Away L -12.4
Houston Home L -1.7
Tulane Away W 18.3
UTEP Away W 5.5
Marshall Home W 5.8
ECU Away L -8.6

You would think that the schedule is tougher in 2010 when you replace SFA with TTech, however we only won 1 non-conference game LY and you would expect a minimum of one non-conference win this year against Washington State with the rest of the schedule being the same (except for location).

That said, I would have a hard time predicting more than seven wins even if ES and Shawnbrey were back.
