Solid game for McCann tonight vs. Raiders.

Nice hands as the featured punt returner and showed some pretty good quickness as well. Also had an outstanding play on defense. Certainly did nothing to hurt his chances of making this squad. I think Wade likes him, which probably comes as no surprise to JJ. Shouldn't surprise anybody who's watched him the last couple of years...Brian McCann is a playmaker.

i saw him give up 2 completions. Nothing significant, plus he had a couple good returns.

The Boys trusted him and he broke up the first pass his way. and they didn't pick on him much after that...he looked good and confident.....I tell you what, I was at the game and it was so very cool to see a MUSTANG out there in the NFL!!!

I was @ the game tonight and BM looked great. They completed a couple of passes tonight his way, but overall he didn't hurt the D. Looked good on the punt returns when he had room, and also broke a 20+yd in the 2nd qtr. Had plenty of time on Jerry's tv as well. On a side note; I wore my SMU polo to the game and it was recognized by at least a dozen people. Not sure if that's good or bad. Overall great play by an ex-Pony.

Even one of the completions was a very good play, when they threw the out route to the sideline and he closed quickly and got the guy out of bounds before he turned upfield. Solid performance. Wade Phillips needs to call me for a thorough analysis.

Bryan McCann

If McCann, an undrafted rookie free agent from SMU, makes the club, it will be because of his speed. He put it on display against the Raiders as a cornerback and a punt returner.

McCann averaged 10.8 yards on five punt returns. Each time, his speed and quickness created problems for Oakland's coverage unit.

With veteran Cletis Gordon out because of a neck injury, McCann received extra playing time at corner. In the first quarter, McCann ran step-for-step with Louis Murphy to cause an incompletion on a deep throw.

In the fourth quarter, he was caught in-between and had a Kyle Boller throw sail over him to Yamon Figurs for an 18-yard gain.

McCann's stats last night: If I remember correctly, had 58 return yards, including 25 or so yards on the one long return. Registered 3 tackles and one pass defensed. A good outing.
