I think they are going to back out of the game aganst SMU out of fear for too many injuries to their team and an early loss that will ruin their season. But that is just a guess.

Based on rumors leaking out over the last 3 weeks or so from TCU, I'm 99% sure they have gotten funding for Stadium and will begin after the season.

Is this a 'phases' thing for them? As in funding to finish what they already started? The thing that fell down (was it the endzone part)...that was separate and distinct from what they've funded now?

I think there are two more phases. Endzone completed-next is the West Side and then East side or vice versa. They will have limited seating during the year between the two remaining phases. I think the next phase is the destruction of the hideous upper deck.

Good for the Frogs! That means they raised the ante for our response now. You got to hand it to "competition"!

The announcement is supposed to be that all money has been raised for the stadium, show final renderings of the stadium and the schedule for construction. As far as I know, construction is to begin in mid November after our final home game. That will mean that the Armed Forces Bowl is being moved for 2 years. We've heard all along that it will be at Ford. I expect that to be announced as well today.

Below is a rendering from a few months ago:

I hate to see the upper deck go. A great ole stadium that just needs updating. I wonder how they are deciding on capacity since they are just now starting to attract 40,000 plus crowds after a decade of excellence. Maybe they will play all the big-draw teams at Cowboys Stadium. Great to see them work so hard and smart to get to this point after so many frustrating years. Congratulations Frogs.

Unless there were major recent changes to the plan, the upper deck is being replaced not removed. The capacity is going to remain around 42-44K with ability to expand up to 47K-50K for bigger games (including SRO) and the ability to permanently expand up to 60-65K in the future.
