"Mess" is right. If I am an AD I seriuosly consider forgetting the notion of joining up with an existing conference and I try to make my own and pick and choose from the best of the Non-AQ.

Yeah, the main thing that was wrong with the MWC was the bottom feeders in the conference. If the conference was built of the best of CUSA and WAC it would really be something.

I forgot to mention the drawback to that. You need an automatic bid to the NCAA BB tournament. To have that, you need 5 common members from the previous year. So, you could make a conference with 5 CUSA schools or 5 WAC schools or 5 MWC schools or 5 MAC schools. The MAC always seems left out of this, which is fine with me. Accordingly, 5 CUSA schools would be easiest because it is bigger.

Let's hope our trusty Athletic Department has already sprung into action...

When the dust settles, I hope we can get back into a conference with TCU, but still, this is pretty damn funny. The high and mighty froggies are closer to being in a conference that resembles the Sun Belt than the Big 12. Utah is gone. BYU is gone. Boise may very well back out and go back to the WAC. Air Force may bail.

BYU and Utah Dumped all over TCU, SMU, Houston, and Rice once, but the Froggies felt it prudent to go back for a second helping. They have been left in the wake again and in the end, they really accomplished nothing in the MWC that they could not have accomplished in C-USA.

BYU will stay independent. They have their own TV network and they probably think they have a better chance to get in a BCS bowl as an independent.
