Fresno can't afford a $5,000 penalty. That school is on life support from a budget perspective. Pat Hill took a pay cut just to keep his job.

Why not? Joining the MWC is an upgrade over the WAC and the travel costs are roughly the same. Can they really not get the 5M to buyout?

Umm, this is just a big clusterfoot...a lot of this doesn't add up...

Even if Fresno and Nevada depart the WAC, the past 24 hours have been a blow to TCU.
They are now in a conference with zero chance of BCS eligibility and have added teams even further away from their campus that their fans don't care about.
At least BYU would bring fans to their stadium. Fresno and Nevada? Nope.
