Wolken's tweet is the only thing I've seen that could be considered current.
The price to leave Conference USA with two years notice is reportedly $ 400,000 plus the negotiated buyout of the school's value to the league's television contract over a four-year period.

I guess I'm still not convinced that Houston win would be wise to accept a bid to the Mountain West at this point. With all the instability in that conference I'd be pretty leery of what's going on out there. Here's my dream scenario. A new mini SWC.

with the possibility of adding Baylor at the next round of realignment.

Posted: Thu Aug 19, 2010 8:46 amLouisville, Cincy and USF got waivers of their buyouts by agreeing to home games with old CUSA teams for a period of years. Army just got a waiver. I remember that TCU was rather bitter about not getting a similar deal which may be why they might not rejoin CUSA.

Rice and Tulane are dead weight. The purpose of forming a new conference would be to leave behind these exact schools. New Mexico is at least competitive in basketball.
