From the article:
Patterson strongly suggested Wednesday afternoon that "more dominoes" could soon fall.

"All I can tell you is this: Just wait and see in the next two weeks before you make any judgments and see what happens in the national landscape," Patterson said. "Things that I know that maybe you don't know. That's all I'm going to tell you."

If those dominoes are Fresno St and Nevada, then TCU hasn't gained anything.

Unless they are going to be a part of an existing BCS conference this quote is the equivalent of a fart in the wind.

I know TCU wouldnt necessarily want SMU their league, but i have a real hard time believing they would let Nevada join if they had any intention of staying. I would have to think they would have lobbied for Houston opposite Fresno. Something is up. I believe FatPat.

What a toolbag. Also there is a lot of false bravado coming out of Ft. Worth these days. They knew the MWC was about as close as any non-BCS conference could get to automatic BCS qualifier status (and realistically it was a snowballs chance in hell) and now the MWC has ZERO chance of BCS qualifier status even if they add Houston, SMU, UTEP, or whoever.

gotta remember, other teams vote too. Some of the bottom dwellers of MWC have been opposing moves for years...moves which may have helped gain AQ status, which is part of the reason Utah and now BYU want to leave.

What is TCU really going to do? I mean where would they go that in their minds is an improvement over the MWC? The answer is nowhere. Nothing is up. TCU doesn't hold the power in that conference some of you think they do.

Sounds like Patterson in a round about way is begging BYU to stay in the article.

As far as TCU, think of a "bigger picture" - justtttt wait...it's gonna be a hell of a ride!

;)

Why would they want to be the only Texas team? Another Texas team means they finally get a conference mate in the same time zone and within a reasonable driving or cheap flight away for their fans and non revenue sports. I would think TCU would want as many viable Texas options in the MWC as possible.

You guys over on KF are saying you want to be the only TX team for recruiting, etc., but I have to think at this point that the travel costs aren't worth it given the lessened prestige of the MWC now - what do you think?

Hearing big things?
