Still about an hour away.

Few items:

• Those sitting in club level seating will get a new look, as pictures of some of SMU's all-time greats are painted/printed directly in to the walls and columns.

• Huge SMU logos emblazoned on elevator doors (on west side of the stadium — going from ground floor to club seats and press box).

• In addition to the big new video board, there is a smaller video board mounted on the bricks in front of the seats behind the north end zone. At the moment it has an image of a rippling American flag.

• In the northeast corner, a new scoreboard (no video — just score, time, down and distance, etc.) Apparently it is being tested today. At the moment, it shows each team with three timeouts left, third quarter just ended, SMU has the ball on the 50. Score: "Mustangs 68, Longhorns 6"

I'll resume updates when anything of note happens.

Among those returning: Darryl Fields, Chris Butler, Keenan Holman, Kenneth Acker
Fastest straight-ahead speed: Fields and Holman

Acker appears to be just as shifty and elusive as a return guy as advertised.

Jeremy Johnson back with the return guys now, although he hasn't fielded any yet.

If you're still there, can we get a pic of the new scoreboards?

Kickoffs: Mike Loftus appears to have a strong leg, but his distance is inconsistent. One kickoff fell at the 15-yard line, before he dropped the next two inside the 5.

Working on it (thanks to Ryan "Ansel Adams" Wolcott and his phone camera).

Offense and defense are coming out on the field.
Mickey Dollens is in a jersey, but no pads and no cleats. Not sure why.

Larry Centers, Jr. in for a return. Changes direction very quickly, and split two defenders with quick burst of acceleration.

Student of ALL parts of the game: Margus Hunt can throw a 45-yard spiral.

Apparently the defensive linemen are throwing for distance on the sideline. Marquis Frazier and Taylor Thompson just threw 50-yard strikes.
