geez. they're running with the "exciting news" post from the assistant AD's twitter. turned out to be a deal with rice and FoxSW to produce a half hour show, NOT announce teams to CUSA.

go read the bleacher report he's posted in THIS thread. the basis for the report was that the Rice assistant AD said that there was "exciting news coming today", then a guy from rivals interpreted that to mean 2 schools would be announced to join CUSA in football.

Webmasters, if we can't get an automatic ban for posting bleacherreport articles, can we at least make "bleacherreport" turn in to [deleted]?

temple makes sense if tcu also joins cusa.

i'm in the camp that thinks we either form a 20 team conference or we have a death match between the mwc and cusa for a bcs bid.

if uh bolts then all is off and we get la tech to replace them.

Temple is worthless if it's just football. If they include bball then it might be ok.

Temple has been dismal in football for many years. The failure in football got them removed from the Big East. Their facilities are very poor and it is a real accomplishment that they have had some competitive football teams the past few years. It is a school that cannot decide what they want to become in sports. They have a long basketball tradition; however, even that program has fallen on hard times for many years including the end of the Chaney era. I'm not sure Temple brings anything to the table until such time as they figure out what they want to be.

They deliver Philly like we deliver Dallas. But at least we have another large market team to put in front of TV networks.

On the contrary, Temple does not deliver the area that surrounds the school let alone Philadelphia, parts of PA or NJ. Villanova and St. Jo's delivers basketball with some basketball from Temple, LaSalle, Drexel, St. Bonnies. No one delivers football except Penn State in PA with a little Pitt interest in the western part of the state. Rutgers has started to deliver NJ along with traditional ND who has a huge Catholic following. Bottom line is that Temple brings nothing to the table let alone Philadelphia, eastern PA or southern NJ. Lehigh, Layfayette, and nearby Princeton all draw better football attendance.
