I don't understand the desire for a school to move up from a lower division to a higher division. It seems like the costs are significant, and there is a slim likelihood of a return. What advantage is there?

From an emotional standpoint, I get it, but if you are a school that has been playing Div 2 or 1AA, why are you going to sink a lot of money into the program? Boise State and USF are the only two schools that I can think of that get any significant exposure because of the move up.

Alright, so what has been the advantage? I'm not arguing that schools aren't doing it. I'm wondering why?

You keep adding schools that have been moving up (progress wise) while the school to our north stays at the bottom

How many of the ACC transfers would have gone to North Alabama if it was FBS and they had to sit out a year? Delaware and SHS have been feasting off 1-A transfers to the point that its a part of their plan. That's part of the reason why Delaware which has a great fan base and travels well, refuses to go to 1-A. I saw them play recently and I'm sad to report that they no longer run the single wing.
