Along with Houston. BYC just jettisoned themselves from what I understand.

I've seen the UH talk... any source for a potential SMU move to MWC?

Maybe I'm blind, but I didn't see any mention of SMU in either of those links.

This thread title is VERY misleading. Only one published report during all of this mentioned SMU, and that was us supposedly being wooed by the WAC (which was/is a dumb move).
IMO, I doubt we are headed anywhere. MWC isn't exactly stable right now.

I agree — I doubt we go anywhere, and without delving into the stability of the MWC, I can't see how it makes sense to move. Not a BCS conference, with far greater travel distances and costs. If we're going to be in a non-BCS conference, wouldn't it make sense to stay in a more regional league?

Got that right. I am sure Houston will get an invite and the other invite will probably be between UTEP and SMU.

I guess we will have to see how it plays out Thumper. I would rather stay in CUSA too.

Why in the world would we want into that conference without BYU and without Utah? Its WAC all over again. You remember them: 10,000 people in the stands to see Fresno, Boise, Nevada. And don't get me started on Wyoming, UNLV and San Diego State. AF and TCU would be nice, but we play TCU every year and have a deal with Navy and the rest of CUSA isn't any worse than the bottom of MWC in fact probably better. CSU/UNM = Tulsa and UTEP. I say " NO".

I was just giving my opinion since BYU is leaving the MWC. That is why I said may and we are going for sure.

Don't be surprised if we get an invite to replace the departed teams. But maybe not.

Why would we do that - the only thing worth connectin gto in the conference is now TCU.

We need to go to Big 12 with TCU - or we need to ask TCU to come into the CUSA and kick out Rice or Tulane.

If Houston and UTEP go to the MWC who does CUSA replace them with?
