TCU BCS BSIsn't this a moot point after they play SMU anyway? Surely there BCS ranking will drop significantly even if they beat So. Miss (which I doubt)..
Re: TCU BCS BSthe talking heads I've heard on radio/TV seem to think they need some srious help from AP/Coaches' pollsters and/or a meltdown by some teams ahead of them to crack the top 6 again.
Re: TCU BCS BSDon't schedule Vandy and none of this would of happened to poor TCU. I heard their AD whining about Arizona being a top 10 team when they scheduled them. Arizona's current suckage is countered by Navy's 6 win team, which was probably winless when TCU scheduled them.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Re: TCU BCS BSonly the AD at tcu and the AD at Arizona REALLY believed that jibba jabba ! First name \"Mister\"

Re: TCU BCS BSI am glad we will help them in their BCS rankings decline with our suckage

Re: TCU BCS BSYou mean don't schedule Vandy and SMU.
Re: TCU BCS BSNo, I don't. TCU and SMU have played damn near every year for a century. SMU still got up to play TCU every year when we beat TCU 13+ years in a row. You knew you were playing SMU and Army going into the scheduling process and you decided to add Vanderbilt and Navy.
My point stands. Quit complaining about SMU and tell your AD to quit citing Arizona's poor play as an excuse. No one made you schedule Navy; no one made you schedule Vanderbilt. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. Re: TCU BCS BSThats because we were in the same conference...If you havent noticed we arent anymore so there wasnt any offical obligation to play ya'll. Sure it makes sense and we need to play SMU but my point is that we are as much to blame for scheduling SMU as we are for scheduling Vandy. And we'd like to thnk that SMU would win a game or two and Vandy would trip a couple people in the SEC like the normally do. Plus it has been near impossible to schedule good teams, especially in Texas, to play us since 1998. Freakin' A$M and UT won't even play us AT THEIR PLACE!! We took that Nebraska game in 2001 5 months prior because it opened up and didnt mind going on the road to do it. [ 11-19-2003, 01:56 PM: Message edited by: TCUPunter ]
Re: TCU BCS BSthat is so right - TCU put themselves in this spot - not us or anyone else - fact is - when they schedule tough teams they will get beat - at least this way they get to pretend.
Re: TCU BCS BSWell, we are 3-0 in our the last 3 games against Top 25 teams (Louisville last year and this year and Colo. State.) and have won 20 of our last 21. Whenever we have faced tough teams the past two years, we have won.Its not our fault Conf. USA has pretty much fallen on it's face.
Re: TCU BCS BSHey TCUPunter...
TCU hasn't played Richard...if you know what I mean.
Re: TCU BCS BSThat's because their AD has a Hyman. It could be dangerous if the they started playing with Richard. heh [ 11-19-2003, 07:40 PM: Message edited by: Peruna_Ate_My_Rolex ]
Re: TCU BCS BSI agree that TCU has in a way put itself here. It did play lots of powderpuff teams excluding us. However, I believe that they are trying to beat the system and if it would've worked for them, that would have been great. But it didn't. They will still, regardless of a BCS bowl, have an undefeated season under their belt (pending a win on us). I don't know which is better, but I think they should stop complaining and start planning.
Obviously the BCS system is weird. Their season combined with the ranking will show that. Maybe changes will be made on that account. I think they need to start playing harder teams, and they will probably lose some of those games, but they will be a much stronger program for it. They've proven that they can have a flawless season, but now I think they should prove that they have a good program REGARDLESS of who they play. Up the ante, TCU, and then you'll get more respect. Not that you aren't getting a TON to begin with. Honestly? I think it's good that our rivals are getting this kinda coverage. It will trickle on to us, especially when we stop putzing around and get back on track. There's the positive. Now the negetive I DO NOT like the TCU mentality that they are untouchable in all walks of life. I try not to argue on that board anymore because you CAN NOT WIN, PERIOD! Sorry, TCUPunter, but you have some of the most annoying fans EVER. You have a good football team this year, but you are not God's gift to the game. Appreciate what you have right now, but GET OVER YOURSELVES. That was the negetive, and that was the PC Ambassador Spaz. Now for the Ra Ra Mustang Band spaz Ahem... BOOOOOOO TCU!!! YOU ALL SUCK AND WILL ALWAYS SUCK!!! WE WILL KILL YOU ON SATURDAY!!! RAAAAAAAAAAAAR!!!! TAKE IT!!!! TAKE IT AND LIKE IT!!! PERUNA WILL EAT YOUR CHILDREN!!!! BWAAAAAAA HA HA HA HA!!! The Spaz WHERE'S MY KETCHUP?!?!?!
Re: TCU BCS BSDon't point to Vandy as a game that hurt TCU. As a member of the SEC, vandy didn't hurt TCU at all. The truth is that TCU's playing in CUSA...or any other "non-BCS" conference, is what takes them out of the equation for the top 6 BCS spots. The truth hurts, but none of our conferences (WAC, CUSA & MWC) are anywhere near the same caliber of competition week in and week out as you see in the SEC, Big XII or Big 10. The fact that TCU has climbed into the top 10 is remarkable enough, but being realistic, they are not one of the top 10 teams in the country. I'm impressed by what TCU has accomplished this year, but I'm not sure they would beat South Carolina, a lower ranked SEC team that just can't get past Florida, Georgia & Tennessee.
If TCU regularly packed ACS with 46,000 fans and brought 20,000 with them on road games, one of the BCS Bowls might give them a shot. THAT's what the BCS is really all about. A BCS Bowl will gladly take a big school from the SEC, Big XII or Big 10 over TCU, regardless of their record. [ 11-20-2003, 03:18 AM: Message edited by: Charleston Pony ]
Re: TCU BCS BSWas listening to ESPN radio on the drive in to work this morning, they wre citing some early point spreads of a potential national championship game between OU and 10 other teams. USC was the closest with a spread of only 7 points. OU would be favored by 8 over LSU; by 9 over Michigan; by 10 over Miami (Ohio); and by 22 over TCU. I find it odd that the conventional wisdom thinks Miami-Ohio would give OU a better game than TCU.
