1-3......the only win is Tulane barely getting by a d-II school. So Miss and Marshall get blown out and UAB loses to a Sun Belt school.

Didn’t see the first part of the game, but what I did see of So. Miss was very disappointing. I didn’t have high hopes for Marshall and was floored by UAB's game. Tulane is about where one expects them to be.
It was a terrible night for the conference and certainly will not gather any respect for other schools going forward. The conference has to win some of these games to earn respect.

Knocking off Tech will help.

We need to step up to show that CUSA is not a joke. USM blowout and UAB loss to a SunBelt team were the most disappointing losses. Marshall was expected.

I don't understand So. Miss. Every year they sign a class full of 3 and 4 star rivals recruits. Yet last night they looked completely outclassed by what has been a middle-of-the-pack SEC program. When I think back to the teams that So. Miss. was putting out there 8-10 years ago, it makes me scratch my head why they decided to fire their perfectly good long-time coach and go in another direction.

To be fair, Tulane beat a FBS (I-AA) team. Also note we barely beat a FBS (I-AA) team last year. Also, to be fair to your point, the team had only been playing football since 2003.

USM already has a furball going on with coach v fans and coach v star receiver. Both were visible last night. USM boards are alive this morning with fussing about Fedora.
These are the same folks that canned a very capable coach pre-Fedora.

This is one of those situations where the fans may get what they deserve. You fired a guy who was basically a consistent 8 game winner, and it's more likely you'll go backwards before you go forward.

like Tech did?^^^^
I know, I know, different criteria/circumstances, but it will be interesting to see how fast sand aggie turns on Tubbs if Sunday doesn't go well.

The thing that bugged me in the ESPN broadcast was that they kept calling USM the favorite to win the CUSA East.

I thought that most were predicting UCF.

No. Southern Miss fired a proven winner for a first-time HC. They chose a highly regarded but unproven replacement.
Tech hired a guy with a winning record in SEC games, who had put together a 13-0 season in the SEC.

Whatever is going on at USM, they'd better straighten it out quickly. The big conference shift is not too far away and USM is definitely trending the wrong way. They are rapidly sliding back into irrelevance. I know, I know. . .those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. But I think the difference is that SMU is definitely trending the right way and its being noticed. USM is not and its being noticed.
