It's a shame Kincade didn't at least make the semifinalist list.

I hope that Foy Munlin does as well at SMU as Shaud Williams did at Alabama after transferring from Tech.

It's really ashame Patrick Cobbs of the University of North Texas did not make the fianalist list. He leads the nation in scoring and rushing, and he is in Dallas' backyard. Makes no sense!

No kidding! If practices are any indication, he should do well. Whether he does as well as Williams remains to be seen, of course, but he's an animal in practices.

Kincade, a Troup, Texas native, posted one of the best statistical season in SMU history last year, rushing an SMU record 327 times for 1,279 yards - third in school annals - and seven touchdowns on is way to second team All-WAC honors.

Kincade is one of 39 candidates for the award, presented by the SMU Athletic Forum. Eight semifinalists will be selected Nov. 19, and the winner will be announced live on ESPN's Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Thursday, Dec. 11. The Doak Walker Presentation Banquet will be held Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at The Fairmont Hotel in Dallas.

The Doak Walker Award is named after the former SMU great, who became the first college player to win the Heisman Trophy as a junior in 1948.
