He was a 3rd round pick he was going to make the roster no matter what he did in the preseason. No way a NFL front office was going to cut a first day pick and admit a mistake like that. But still good to see him do well the last preseason game.

Edit - Take it back if the player just has a dismal training camp and preseason like a Maurice Clarett then yeah they would cut him.

Clarification, I believe Clarett dropped to the 4th round.

Clarett was the last pick of the 3rd round in 2005.
