June without a doubt. Patterson is overrated and his teams often look totally unprepared. (loss to us post OU win, loss in bcs bowl last year)

TCU as a football program was never handicapped by Ken Pye or Turner (until he got his head out of his @#$). Patterson has done a wonderful job with TCU, but he didn't have to undo 25 years of self inflicted damage when he took over the job. He could slowly and methodically build upon what he did the year before. He had an administration that wanted to work with him to achieve his goals. As alumni we will never be sure of SMU's committment to competitive football. Given the constant struggle with the Administration, I would say Jones has surpassed Patterson's accomplishments because he is successful despite the University.

Jones because of the turnarounds, he took two programs no one wanted anything to do with and made them both respectable very quickly.

Why isn't Todd Dodge on the list?

They're both great, no doubt. But taking Hawaii to 11-0 and SMU to a post-death penalty relevance beats taking an already mid-major power to 12-0.

He should be since they are going 8-4 this season plus a bowl win. If you watched the Clemson game you know what I am talking about.

Jones took Hawaii to 12-0 before the Sugar Bowl in 2007.

A ball of lint could be a great coach with Patterson as DC and Jones as OC.

Agreed. Hard to argue with the results of either guy.
