Two blocked kicks. Multiple 4th down stops. Put in the hole with 4 turnovers. We flat shut down TTU's running game. The front 7 looked very strong.

If we play D like this the rest of the year and we stay healthy, we are going to win a lot of games.

TTU has a couple of NFL guys in the secondary - that showed today. Overall not a bad start. I do wish we had seen Fields more though...i think they were suspectable to the run. Take this same team and add shambrey in there and we might have pulled off the upset.

Worried about the CB position that is not Moore. But hung tough in a swelter, and kept us in it.

And our D dominated in the fourth quarter. TTU has much better talent and depth than almost any other team w play this year.

We didn't know for sure how the TTU offensive and defensive schemes would look. So we had to prepare for the unknown. And we did a great job.

We will know UABs schemes and tendencies next week.

And no major injuries.

I hate we didn't win but we are much better this year than last year.

We played tough today. Put that same game in Ford stadium and we probably win by two touchdowns. TCU should start getting worried. I hope they get bumped up a few notches in the rankings by the time we play them.

They could have folded at any time, which we have seen on past teams. Staying in the game showed a lot of guts. No moral victories, but they can come off the field with their heads held high.

Our defense really looked good toward the end of last year, and continues to show improvement this year.

The two downside to JJ's offense is 1) it doesn't work in the cold and rain (see Navy), and 2) it can expose your defense to a lot of playing time, which in our case is particularly difficult because we don't have the depth yet. But great job and great effort, to the last second by the D. Very proud!!

I think Crawford will be ok. He was close to making several big plays and the passes were perfect. He is the best we have right now and at least he was not running around out of place.

I thought overall it was a tremendous defensive effort with the exception of the last drive of the half. Yes they were tired, but they needed to suck it up a little more. Still giving up a lot of yards but if I am correct, we stopped them on 4 out of 4 4th down tries. That is big. Now the offense just needs to get in sync and all will be ok.

You could tell Richmond is young. He hung with the receiver, just didn't get turned around in time, or get his hands in position to make a play. Hey, it was game 1 of his college career. Hard to ask him to go against a Big 12 school where the #2 & #3 receivers would likely be far and away the #1 at a CUSA school.

Lyle Leong is a two time 5A Texas State Champion in the High Jump(7.1) and long jumped about 25 feet as well. Tech executed that spot pass to perfection. I doubt there are many football players that are going to outjump Leong for a jump ball. Its not surprising Tech decided to go after a player in his first college game who has only been on campus for a month. He's going to be fine. We've had corners who were much more out of position than Crawford. I bet he's pretty solid in about a month.
