I don't accept moral victories, but we gave them 21 points and still
almost won in Lubbock.

Keep in mind we got a gift in the fourth quarter when Tubby went for it on 4th and one and then a sure interception dropped in our guy's hands. We gave them 21 and they gave us 7. And nobody expected a 61 yd field goal. TTU was the better team. They force us into turnovers and moved the ball pretty impressively at times. They flat out played us in that first half. We made a come back after TTU was sitting on a comfortable lead and was trying not to make mistakes that let us back into the game.
I like the improved athleticism and the hard play. But we aren't there yet, we have short week to play a team desperate for a win and looking to even the score from last year's win. UAB has some athletes but not the overall quality we just faced. And the UAB game is far more important for us than TTU.
Learn form TTU and prepare hard for Sat. TTU taught us that we are better than 2 years ago but a long way from a top 25 team.

You know Davie was commenting that Leach would go for it there, but that Tubberville would be smart and just punt it away. Then Tubby goes for it. And Davie goes, that was a dumb move. And low and behold, we score and make it a one TD game. Great stop on third down by the way.
