SMU quarterback Kyle Padron's performance in Sunday's season opener at Texas Tech was mixed. He completed 55 percent of his passes for more than 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns, but he also threw an uncharacteristic three interceptions in SMU's 35-27 loss to the Red Raiders.

His own harshest critic, Padron felt badly about his own performance, but raved about the growth of his teammates and the SMU team in general, and promised a different performance when the Mustangs welcome Conference USA rival UAB to Gerald J. Ford Stadium Saturday evening in the 2010 home opener.

That's what I thought — he's channeling his Inner Tim Tebow.
If I remember right, Tebow came out the week after his "I'm going to work harder than anyone" (or whatever it was that he said) speech and destroyed the next defense he saw.
Here's hoping Kyle does the same!

Just sayin' the quote sounded familiar.

If I gave the impression that I think Padron is Tebow's equal, that was unintentional. My reaction was like that of The PonyGrad — the quote just struck a familiar chord. That's all.
I do like the intensity he seems to have, though.
