Uh oh

For all the rivalry smack talk that goes back and forth between SMU and TCU, we admit that they (the little froggies) are -- if nothing else -- a talented team, right? Well, I skimmed a TCU story in Saturday's Dallas Morning News, and it said the little froggies lacked emotion against Southern Miss. And that head coach Gary Patterson doesn't think that problem will be repeated against the Ponies (dammit), which doesn't bode well.

The paper's version:

Patterson said he expects TCU to play with more emotion in the regular-season finale at SMU on Nov. 29.

Said Patterson: "It's kind of like when somebody goes out and steals your girlfriend, now you want her back and here's what you have to do.

I wouldn't hold much to that. It's a pretty generic statement that any coach would make...

WHAT IN GOD'S HOLY NAME ARE YOU BLABBERING ABOUT?!?!!?

What the hell does that MEANn? How did we "steal their girlfriend?" I mean, what have we taken from TCU? NOTHING!!! I don't know what they think they are gaining from a giant kickass victory against us. It'll prove NOTHING!!! Anyone gonna be surprised by this win? NO!! It would have been IMPRESSIVE had it given them an undefeated seaon, but NO! IT DOESN"T!!! The only ones who are gonna get any recognition from a win here is US. SHUT UP PATTERSON, YOU BLITTHERING IDIOT!!!
What a great representation of TCU. A big purple moron.

That statement definitely won't rank up there with "win one for the gipper," that's for sure. If a statement like that is needed to rally the team, then they deserve to be handed an upset.
By the way, I think someone needs to give Patterson a call and advise him that his girlfriend has left and taken her BCS bid with her, never to return. She kissed her prince last thursday night and found out he was a frog. Needless to say, she wasn't thoroughly impressed.

Good god - mix in some decaf, bro.

I think the "stolen girlfriend" reference was directed toward the loss to Southern Miss, as if Southern Miss "stole" TCU's perfect season, or somesuch....

I agree -- the comment was just generic coach-speak.

Why do you think they call me Spaz?

Actually it's more like having your girlfriend stolen and you want her back so you go and kick your cat.

We're basically going to be the, I hate to say it, "Cross-Town Whipping Boy" on this one. Someone else ticked them off, and now we get to see the repercussions.

WHOOPEE!!!

Our only hope is that they come out flat, like they have nothing left to play for. Win or lose they go to the GMAC bowl. On the other hand, if we win, it could save a prettey pitiful year.

We can save ourselves this title, if Bennett plays mostly freshman during the game. Then it is big-bad tcu beating up on a bunch of freshmen and redshirts. I would say that a blow-out under those conditions might bode well in 3-to-4 years when these guys are all juniors and seniors (a la UH Homecoming game '92)... but I have little faith that the tcu coach will get busted showing PORN films to players and they go on probation before then.

Don't understand the porn reference......
Here are some problems I see
a) MrT, your idea won't work because I don't see Bennett slighting the Seniors on the last game of their career. He might, he might not, I'm not sure. If I were him, I would try anything at this point
b) I'm afraid the players have always seen this game as a guaranteed loss and may have given up hope a WEEK ago after the Rice game. If you're sure the season is a bust, you've got finals and the general SMU party atmosphere around you, you might want to start your partying studying or both two weeks earlier.

UGH, I don't wanna see this.....
