Stats never lie. In all, ours were fine, not great.
Passing - C+
Padron - 18-33 for 145 yds - 2 TD's - (only because he did not turn it over)
Running Backs - A
Line - 16-122 yds & 2 TD's.
Receiving - B-
Beasley and Robinson with 51 yds. (Padron was not accurate)
O-Line - A
Pass Protection was excellent as well as the run blocking.
D-Line - A
108 yds rushing with top back with 42 yds
D-Backs - B
153 yards total, but they gave up a 50 and 31 yds play. 11.8 yds average as well.
Special Teams - B
Kick Returns - 20 yd average.
Punting 37 yd average
All in all, pretty good with a B+ Average. I think most of our issues with this team is that what we thought would be our strength looks to be a little weak through 2 games. Can turn around quickly though as we know they can play.

Are those your grades or did you pull them from somewhere? They seem to be pretty accurate in my mind.

Those are mine. I don't think anyone grades us.

Lots of logo and mascot talk and not much football talk. Just wanted to give my grades and see where other people would put us.

I'd go lower on the receiving grades. Several times I saw the receivers struggle to make their reads to get open.

I could not tell from where I was sitting many of the blown routes.

we keep playing like this in the passing game, we're going to get blown out by TCU. they seem so out of sync. i know it's been said numerous times in other threads, but that's really what worries me the most at this point. well, other than corner.

Passing game is still not in sync. Too many dropped passes and misreads leading to mistakes and bad passes.

I would not grade our special teams as high. We gave up way too many yards on kickoffs and did a poor job fielding punts which cost us yards.

I would not rate the receivers that high. We desperately need someone to step up and help Padron out.
I love the fact that most people on this board are upset with our team's performance after a 21 point victory. Clear sign we have turned the corner.

I also think our special teams were poor. It seemed on every punt they had a good chance of blocking it and their three outside gunners were always getting by our guys. Symanskis? Punts were also poor.

Unless you are blaming the WRs, from the stats I would give Padron a C-. An efficiency of 111.45 for an R and S QB is not good. He did manage the game well and did not get us into trouble so I might give him a C+ overall, just not from those stats.

And don't leave out his 9 rushes for 66 yards and 3 1st downs. That was key in the game, even if he wasn't throwing the ball.

I wouldn't recommend grading on stats alone. Padron's overall performance is an A. How many times did he scramble for key yardage? We don't have physical receivers who go up and catch balls against the db's so Kyle has to make sure they are open which often times they are not. Do the receivers hustle every play or just when they know the ball is coming their way? Do the punt returners hustle onto the field and hustle to the ball to fair catch or catch the punt or do they jog over and let punts roll for huge 85 yard punts by the UAB punter? Do the running backs block or do you just grade them on the runs? So much doesn't show in the stats. Ryan Smiths hit on the receiver at the goal line saving a td!!!!!
