Maybe a little more Holman and Johnson?

Just a thought as our passing offense seems to be coming along slowly early in the season. I did see that Holman got to play a little against UAB but I've yet to see an appearance by Jeremy Johnson. All reports out of camp were that he was impressive. I have complete faith that the passing game will come around, but maybe an injection of new blood is what we need to jumpstart us and get us a few more deep plays.

Holman was open on some routes Saturday.

padron may have missed some open receivers but i think the real problem was that he was being extra cautious since he threw 3 ints against tt. just my take on it. there were also several drops.
padron is a very good runner-suprisingly good. it was more run than shoot but we won so i'm happy.

off topic but in my role as counter of uab fans i counted about fifty.

50 is being generous. I think I saw ten of them on The Boulevard before the game.

There were not that many of our fans at uab last year.

Agree, we had many receivers open and he was either holding the ball too long or wasnt seeing them.

That's the same thing that the WSU coaches said this past weekend.

I would take an ugly win over a loss any day (not saying this game was an ugly win). But win or lose, there is always room for improvement.

So .... in order to jumpstart the offense, you want to put in a pair of true freshmen who played receiver in a Wishbone offense (Holman) and high school quarterback (Johnson)?

Things already are a little out of sync. Let's not add hiccups to it now.

We had at least a couple hundred last year at UAB. Just looked like noone was there.

I understand the reluctance to throw a couple of true freshman into the mix, but all indications out of camp were that both Holman and Johnson have been impressive. Holman has already burned his redshirt and I'd hate to misuse him the way we misused Darius last season. I'm starting to get annoyed w/ Haynes so I wouldn't mind seeing someone else out there.

Then lets get them out there and throw them the ball this week against a vastly inferior opponent. We want these kids ready to be a reliable part of the offense by the time we face Tulsa/Houston.
