As someone who has torn both ACLs, my heart goes out to the kid, and wish him nothing but the best in his recovery.

oh man. feel for the kid. Graduated Syracuse and came to SMU to get a grad degree and play football.
Hope he gets the medical waiver and is back next year.

Not thrilled to see that Tennison is in a boot.

I am a little confused and wishing that McKinnon is OK:

"As for the physical state of Mustangs players injured in last Saturday night's win over UAB, Jones expects starting cornerback Sterling Moore (knee), backup running back Darryl Fields (thigh bruise) and reserve defensive back Randy McKinnon (knee) all to be ready. Moore and Fields are already back, Jones said, while McKinnon will probably miss a few practice days."

Which article is correct with respect to his injury?

I'm sure someone will tell us the final scoop, but the article you cited preceded the DMN report today. so, I'm assuming that in the absence of improvement in McKinnon, he underwent imaging that revealed the injury.

I thought that the 7/21/2010 story about Randy McKinnon coming to SMU to pursue a graduate degree and to play a little more football was one of the most engaging about this year's football team. Now he is out for the season. I hope that he is able to juggle classes and rehabing the knee and makes a good recovery. Hard to thik of a circumstance when we will meet but I will be looking for his name on the 2011 football roster and hope to read of him in a Mustang uniform again.
Best wishes!

Showed a quick clip of him being interviewed on The Climb before UAB game.

Wish him well.
