Did anyone catch that 2010 SMU-UAB game?

Remember, it was on Sept. 11 where SMU won 28-7. That was the game where the Mustangs pretty much kicked UAB's butt all over the field.

It was the same game where the adjustment was made to pound the football down their throat -- and it worked?

It was the same game where WR Darius Johnson continued to show his maturity in the system with a team-high 7(?) receptions and two TDs -- and made a really nice adjustment on his second, the 15-yarder?

It was the same game where the defense made two goal line stands and shut down their quarterback?

It was the same game when the fourth quarter began, you pretty much had the feeling UAB was not coming back?

It was the same game where SMU played opportunitistic football by forcing two turnovers including one that resulted in a touchback?

It was the same game where the special teams unit denied the anticipated fake punt gamble and then the offense turned it into a touchdown?

Does anyone remember that?

Given the amount of ABSOLUTE ARTIFICIAL OVERBOARD PANIC on this board, I could have sworn SMU won to improve to 1-1. It would appear that a majority of those who visit this board did not come to the game.

Too bad. You missed a pretty good effort by the boys.

BTW, there's that game coming up on Sept. 18 against Washington State. Just thought you'd like to know.

Have a great day.

Am I missing the sarcasm here? Nobody is panicking. Discussing the lack of passing offense in our first two games as compared to every other June Jones coached team in the history of football is not panicking. It's discussion. That's what discussion boards are for.

Keep it up Patton. Samurai Stang wants me banned for being a nuisance. Take some of the heat off of me for a bit.

If you guys think I'm being an arse, that's up to you.

Basically, you all are going a little over the top about this whole passing game business to the point it borders insanity. Some of you guys get the reda$$ about a point, won't let it go and go on to bury yourselves in the part.

These two threads are just meeting the absurdity with the absurd.

Look, I've said several times Kyle Padron is not going to have an all-CUSA year because of his inexperience, a tougher schedule and opponents scheming him differently. It's going to be an up and down year. And I think it will be that way throughout the year.

Some of you ki$$ [deleted] artists were portraying him in August as all this and all that and don't deny that. Why else would some have his mug in the avatar?

But this team is really good and will be 7-5 because the supporting cast is pretty solid.

Personally, I loved the way we kicked the he!! out of UAB even if it wasn't in typical Junes Jones fashion.

The idea is getting Ws. We got one Saturday. There may be a few more that look like this.

I don't like the Jones offense but I can tell you this, when you see that guy walking on your sideline, you know your team is going to be well coached and it will find a way to be in the ballgame if not win it. He brings that kind of aura.

At least, I hope you're seeing that.
