I bet the Cowboys make every effort to pick him up for their practice squad. They really hoped to keep McCann.

Wow. Being an undrafted free-agent is brutal.

You get to put on an NFL uniform. I would put up with all the other stuff and not even think about it.

odd. Prince Miller was the one who made the 53-man squad, then was released when they signed McCann, and I guess now the Ravens changed their mind. Still hoping he lands on the Colts, who now have room w/ Sanders likely out for the year

Did he get any guaranteed money for being signed to the 53 man roster? Hopefully he got paid.

Not sure how they pro-rate Salaries, but he could have made 20k just for being on the Roster on Monday.

that's not bad. a few more dollars to allow him to keep chasing the dream.
with injuries everywhere, he's bound to get an opportunity.

If I'm reading this right, the fact that he was on Baltimore's 53-man roster Monday means any team that signs him would have to put him on its 53-man roster, too ... right?

Or could a team sign him to a practice squad after some kind of a waiting period?

If Jerry Jones had a brain, he'd know a team can't survive a season with just three CBs. He also would get rid of Teddy Williams, the UTSA track star he thinks he "found" and has stashed on the practice squad. Jerry wants to be known as a "football expert" more than he wants to win.

I'm just doing a quick-study here, but I think as a free agent, he can be either signed to another team's practice squad or to their 53-man roster.

There is a requirement to add players to the 53-man roster is if he is being signed off of another team's practice squad:
"Practice squad players are always free agents, meaning any NFL team can sign them away from another team. The catch with this? A team can't sign a player one week before they play that team and the team that signs a practice squad player must count that player against their 53-man active roster for at least three weeks, bye weeks included. This is even if the player is released after one week - they still count as a spot on the roster. "
