Doesn't look like the same Hawaii Bowl team from last year.

this a kicking by Nevada sure makes our Hawaii bowl a kicking look pretty impressive.

Not really......different year, different team. Notice the true soph RB from Cal...Softile.....we came close on him. Were in his top two and then Cal offered him and he committed on the spot. He is their number two back as a true soph, ahead of a couple of 4 star backs who had offers from everybody. He only really had offers from us and Utah and maybe Washington State....3 Star guy with no more than 4 offers and we were one of his first offers. More evidence of how good June and staff are at the evaluation process.

exactly.

wrong.
essentially all personnel from both sides of the ball are back, with the same coaching staff.

The potential is there for this year’s team to be even more dangerous and even more impressive with most of the defensive front seven returning, both starting corners, and nine starters from the nation’s No. 2 offense.

I think Nevada's top RB's were out when we played them.

yes, you're right.
that probably would have made some difference, although I do recall a lot of pre-game talk about their OL being intact and dominant, and their back-up rb's being well touted -- so much so, the betting line (or whatever you call those things) didn't change much, right?

anyway, in yesterday's game, they essentially used only 1 rb. and, their qb Kaepernick gained 148 yds, compared to zilch in the Hawaii Bowl.
yeah, I'm homering.

While their top RBs were out for our Hawaii Bowl, I think that they may have made it closer but they wouldn't have made enough difference to close the gap on that blowout.
