There is talk of TCU wearing all-white unis, inc. helmet...supposed to help confuse Padron as JJ teaches QBs to lock in on helmet color...
B/c I have never played QB, I could see how this would be confusing but who knows...
Either way, we beat a team we were better than today, now we get to play a team thats better than us, lets see if we step up or lay down...
First sell out of year...

It would crack me up if the Frogs trotted out another new uni this week. Hell, I don't even know what TCU's uniforms look like anymore, and I'm not sure they do either. I went to the TCU/OSU game at JerryWorld and I could swear that the unis they wore at that one were not the same ones they wore at the Fiesta Bowl, which of course were not the same as the unis they wore through most of last season. One things for sure, its pretty hard to find any purple in those fashion-plate Nike promotion pieces they wear. Those unis are hideous. The lizard skin helmet, numbers, and pants look silly. I get it from a $$$ perspective, but they look like some kind of arena-league team when they wear those.
By the way, if you want a good laugh take a look at some of the clips on YouTube of the Frogs in the 1980s. I had forgotten how horrible their uniforms were even then.
Having said that, I'm thinking this is going to be a REALLY tough one no matter what unis they wear.

Have you taken a good look at SMU's unis lately? All those layers of stripes on the sleeves and pants and helmet... It just screams "Stuck in the 80's." Nobody in college or pro football does that kind of stuff anymore. Nobody.
You can have a good laugh looking at You Tube clips of TCU's unis from the 80's. But nobody has to look at You Tube to see SMU's 80's unis. You're still wearing them.

go tell that to UT, bama and penn state, the company you think you run with toad (and don't, btw). your changing uniforms, logos, etc. every year for years and now weekly is LAME-O and contributes to keeping you apart from the big time programs.
and you may/probably will clean up the field with us this week, your team is better than ours, congrats. but you still have an ugly school in a wannabe town with a stupid mascot and color.

Forgetting fashion and getting back to football, is anyone concerned about Padron in this game? From what I have seen the OL has been good enough (but not great), but I am very concerned about Padron's tendency to hold onto the ball way too long this year. Admittedly it is better than BLM throwing it to the wrong team, but there has to be a concern about Padron getting knocked out of this game. I know it is still early in his career and he continues to develop, but we need to have him the rest of the season. Anyone agree?

yes, but i'm afraid with their defense and coverage he is even MORE likely to try and make something out of nothing (an instinct which i love about the guy generally) and will really get knocked around, like you say.
my expectations are really, really low here. we have way too many holes and they are way too solid all around. but like rich phillips' partner said last night in post game, we've seen worse SMU teams beat tcu so i hope we give 'em hell.

I think if forced to act more quickly, Padron will react better. He is thinking too much and spending too much time with the ball. Drop back, make your read, throw.

Padron is still learning the offense just like he was in all 6 games he played last year. He does hold the ball-in fact since he became as starter he has taken as many sacks as just about any QB in the country. It was obvious even last year while some of you thought he was going to contend for All America honors as a Sophomore. He's gonna be fine just have some patience. He just doesn't make many mistakes-that's why he is generally successful.

we are better than we have been, but this game will be tough.
I hope we just get out of the game healthy and get on with conference play.
