On College Football news, they do a weekly who's hot/who's not.
Who's Hot:
10. SMU LB Ja’Gared Davis
The Mustang staff was raving about its athletic sophomore throughout the offseason. Parts of the nation and SMU’s first three opponents are beginning to learn why. Davis leads the country in tackles for loss with eight and Conference USA in sacks with four, using his speed to blow past lumbering linemen.
Yes sir, people are noticing it!

He is the most violent and athletic defender we've had in a decade. If he can stay focused and put on another 10 to 15 pounds he will be an incredibly dynamic talent by the time he is finished here.

Davis and Moore are NFL-caliber players on the defensive side of the ball. IMO, Davis was the best player on the field the last two games.

it is generally difficult to stay eligible without knowing how to spell eligible.

Its not hard at all, its just time management, especially TCU week...it would suck to have an 8 pg essay due the same week. People will complain if he doesnt do well in the game, but that will be because he's spending time on his essay. Then its bad if he isnt eligible because he's busy studying for tcu and getting extra work in regarding that.....kind of hard to pick and no...the MEDIAN doesnt work.

the beauty of the 3-4 defense; I'm looking for big things from Taylor Reed and some of the other guys as defenses start keying on JG

Just by looking at the tackles it seems that Reed does not blitz often and usually is at home cleaning up the mess if someone gets out of the backfield.
9 tackles last week I believe, 8 unassisted, without checking.

JG will be fine.....we are NOT going to let him slide by....he is the real deal and is a NFL player when he finishes here at the Hilltop.
