Congratulations on being ranked #99 in the latest US News and World Report rankings! It must feel great to be in the top 100 after many, many years of sub-100 rankings.

Sincerely,

#56

Can't blame em... I'd lurk here too if our board looked anything like killerfrogs. I haven't seen an interface so rough since PINE email.

You're calling the US News and World Report a popularity contest? No doubt about it there. A TCU grad. If we don't like the results its gotta be biased!

There is no reputable academic ranking service in the world that would put TCU on par with SMU. THAT IS A FACT.

It is a popularity contest...have you looked at the criteria? Come'on now.

If we had a law/med school, yes, I'd imagine we would be "on par" with SMU.

While I do not believe there is one single solid method of ranking universities I also do not believe that USN&WR utilizes the best possible means of doing so.

Opinion, nothing more.

Horsesh*t and you know it. By every quantifiable measure SMU is superior to TCU by every reputable service. Grad school rankings are, for the most part, a separate ranking altogether. Nice try [deleted].

We can all agree on that, but it is the most widely available rankings system out there.

Absolutely, without a doubt.

Unfortunately that's not the case - graduate programs, specifically those mentioned, heavily influence the overall ranking.

Regardless, it's a great time to be a Pony and it's a great time to be a Frog - I would be honored to have a degree from either...too bad I don't.Â
