After practice today, PonyFans.com visited with inside linebacker Pete Fleps to get his thoughts on the upcoming match this Friday against crosstown rival TCU.

Did Fleps see the F-Bowl? Boise took away TCU's run game, and the Frogs' dirty secret was exposed: TCU ain't got a passing game unless it has a running game, too.

Maybe that's improved (we don't know, because nobody but Boise has stopped TCU's running game) but if not, if you can stop TCU's rush, the pass falls with it.

It really seems to me that SMU's 3-4 with the core of talent in the front 7 is about as well suited to slow down TCU's running game as anything else. The problem for SMU will come if and when they do that, TCU should be able to max-protect Ginger, and get passing yards against our... questionable secondary.
