Rest Moore - Focus on ConferenceIf injury reports are true, this should be a no brainer. We hate one or our best defensive players not being able to go, but you rest him for conference schedule. The hype of this one is fun, but need to look big picture and focus on conference.
Same thing if TCU gets out ahead by several TDs and Kyle is getting hit. Pull Kyle and our 2 dinged up OLmen and rest them for conference and let the backups and McDermott get some snaps. In the JJ post practice reports videos this week he said this is "really just one game and we have conference games left" Hope he remembers that and does the right thing.
Re: Rest Moore - Focus on ConferenceSome truth to those comments-but opportunity like this doesn't come around often. No 4. at home on National TV. Think TCU had that attitude against OU when they upset them in Norman or in the 15 of the last 18 BCS Conference schools they have beaten in recent years. How much easier was TCU's rebuilding job after they upset USC. You're on a National Stage-its important to play well. In many respects the nation doesn't really give a rats [deleted] about our CUSA schedule. This is a chance to make a statement. If you strike gold Big Mo and national spotlight is on your side

Re: Rest Moore - Focus on ConferenceI agree with you. Maybe it is just because we are both in San Antonio, but I think our number one goal this year should be to win the conference and not beating TCU. Beating TCU would be a huge upset and no doubt a boon for recruiting, but winning the conference would do even more for us. So, as much as I would like to beat TCU, I would rather win the conference and having everybody healthy is the best way to do that.
Re: Rest Moore - Focus on ConferenceStallion, I agree with both sides of this argument. I guess I lean toward health. I kind of expect June to play real conservative if this game starts to get away from him.
Yes, TCU is ranked in the top 5, but if SMU beats TCU, the story will be that TCU was overrated to begin with and the game says more about TCU than SMU. TCU beat OU and got in the top 25. If SMU beats TCU, it will get some votes, but won't likely crack the top 25. TCU drops to what, 17 or 18? At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Re: Rest Moore - Focus on Conferenceprobably wise to sit him, but they will definitely dress him and let him get in a few plays...just to keep TCU wondering

Re: Rest Moore - Focus on Conferenceglory is forever....
SMU took a chance on me. I'll never turn my back on it.
Re: Rest Moore - Focus on ConferenceI'm not sure that winning CUSA and going to Memphis does more for us than beating TCU on tv. I bet we go top 25 with a win.

Re: Rest Moore - Focus on ConferenceBut 7-5 or 8-4 or 9-3 is much better than 5-6 or 4-7 which it could well be without Moore during the rest of the season. I want to beat TCU very much, but not at the expense of the rest of the year.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Rest Moore - Focus on ConferenceMoore may want to play in this game. years from now, playing against the #4 team in the nation will mean a lot to most players. No doubt the conference is the key important goal. But a player wants the opportunity to play against the best in the land.
I can envision Moore playing as long as it is a competitive game and he is capable. It will be because he is a competitor and wants to compete against the best. And JJ is all about competeting so I would think he would give Moore the opportunity is possible.
Re: Rest Moore - Focus on ConferenceI'm sure Moore will at least start. Hopefully the swelling stays away
Re: Rest Moore - Focus on ConferenceBEAT TCU!
SCREW CONFERENCE! j/k (kinda)
Re: Rest Moore - Focus on ConferenceI think someone is taking exception to this idea - from Facebook:
Re: Rest Moore - Focus on ConferenceThat is great news!
Glad he is able to play, hope he listens to his body and lets it rest when needed.
