Mustang Walk Rerouted - FINALLY

Postby peruna11 » Thu Sep 23, 2010 2:16 pm

Join The SMU Football Team For The Mustang Walk!
Pre-Game March Gets Re-Route (see map below)
Sept. 23, 2010
DALLAS (SMU) - Thanks to a small re-route, SMU fans will now have an even greater opportunity to take part in the football team's pre-game Mustang Walk, giving fans the chance to greet the Mustangs as they arrive on campus prior to the game. SMU started the walks last season, but a change in the route will now allow the team to march down a portion of the Boulevard.
The Mustang Walk starts approximately two hours and 45 minutes prior to kickoff. The walk will begin at the corner of Binkley Ave. and Ownby Dr. (next to the Collins Center) and will proceed west on Binkley before making a left turn and heading south on Bishop Boulevard. The team, led by the Mustangs, will then march down the Boulevard before making a left at the Meadows Museum and heading north into the Loyd Center and their locker room.
These walks are traditional at schools all across the country and SMU hopes to have hundreds of fans lining Bishop Boulevard prior to each game as the team arrives for battle.
The Walk is set to begin at 4:15 p.m. on Friday prior to the SMU-TCU Battle for the Iron Skillet Presented by StateFarm.

For more information on ticket availability for the game, please call the Athletics Ticket Office at (214) SMU-GAME (768-4263).

Weird, but it seems like the stars are aligning, and the school is finally "getting" it.

Didn't the team try to do this during either the Cave-In or Phil "I've forgotten more football than all you will ever know" Bennett years?

Should be a great turnout to see them off as well. What a simple and great change they made.

It's in the news story. No one was hating on Liberty/Justice (though if you would like me to, I can once again expound upon why they should not be on the field).

Your reaction, therefore, is over the top. Horse kook.
