but this was a winnable game. TCU gave us the opening. No joy for a 'good game'...these can be won.

Padron is a man...but still not right. All things had to come together...this will be another one that will stick in the craw for a long time.

Heal up, and on to CUSA

Completely agree. If the D plays this well all year we should be able to run over some CUSA folks for sure

definitely winnable. but, it just shows how close we are to being a solid program. a little more depth, a little more maturity and shazzam. I can be patient.

The game turned on a few plays, wish we would have seen more Line and wish Kerley would not have been kicked to at all. So damn close.

Line had 139 yards...hard to do much more than that. Sooner or later, if have to be able to throw and catch the ball

The difference was the TCU return game. TCU has better athletes on special teams. The gap is narrowing.

TCU has better athletes overall. Their O line is loaded. Dalton is very, very solid. No doubt the best tea won tonight. We needed to play perfect and didn't.

This will no doubt be the most talented team we face this year. Our guys played hard and did a great job.

NOw it is one to Rice. And for once we have an extra day to heal and prepare. Next weeks game, as far as post season an conference play, is a very bug game.

True, but he was our most effective offensive weapon and only had 18 touches. TCU had a serious problem stopping the run due to over-pursuit and JJ didn't take advantage of it enough.

Stop blowing Dalton...guy is the product of a greta o-line and RB

Thing I noticed was that their front 4 were making a ton of tackles...most of ours seemed to be LBs and safties. Could be a product of 4-3 rather than our 3-4, but still told me that both their DL and OL were solid.

it would have been interesting to see what might have happened if we had held TCU inside their 25 yd line after the go ahead TD to open the 2nd half...but we all know what happened. Bottom line is the better team won. Let's move on and try to win CUSA or at least improve on last year's record. JJ is building this thing. Let's see where we are by the time TCU comes to Ford in 2012

I think the difference was in their return game and coverage pursuit (better than ours) and also in their offensive line. Their line was blowing people out of the way. We were quicker, but they were stronger. Lastly, Padron was still holding the ball too long. Perhaps he was trying not to turn the ball over and thinking too much. He also was not sharp in his passes. The over throw on the first play to Aldrick, should have been six. Same deal with DJ later in the game. Against Nevada those were TD's.

Eastang-

agree on the O-line for TCU...on their first goal-line push, the TCU
center got under Margus and drove him back 4 yards in the endzone with the ballcarrier for the TD...can't get away from the 'perfect storm' that TCU played into, but necessitated us playing a perfect game (at this point) to beat them.

Really good post ponyte. Could not agree more, on all points. Zach Line reminds me little of Mike Richardson.
