Jeremy Kerley had almost 200 yards in Returns. Way to go McKNight! Kick it to him some more.

That guy will definately be playing on Sunday afternoon in the near future. He is just one of the MANY fast and athletic players on that team. I have always been impressed by his ability.

So why would you kickoff straight to him?

And nothing against Sada, by WTF didn't we have Szymanski doing the kickoffs, too? You have to think he could have gotten us at least 1, maybe 2 touchbacks?

It's either him or McCoy, the fastest kid on the team and one of the fastest in the state...Catch 22.

You can squib it to the other guys or aim it to the corner. You can also kick it out of the endzone.

Maybe I got this wrong, but I thought that Syzmanski (sp?) didn't kick off the first few times; it was the other kid. Then, in the second half, we sent Matt out there when we had the wind and the wind died and Kerley had a good return.

McKnight was special teams coach last year and we loved him. We still do. (How many teams haven't given up a field goal through 4 games?) We gave up a killer return at the wrong moment. Yeah, that sucked. But as I saw it, our other options were to kick it out of bounds or squib kick it; either way, they are likely getting the ball at the 40.

I do recall once last year, June and McKnight getting into it onto the sideline (very uncharacteristic for both men). Was there a roughing the kicker call during one game on a punt deep in the opposing team's side of the field? I think that is what it was and June was snapping about why we had the block on when we had a lead and were going to get the ball back in good field position.

Well, since you asked ...

Five teams going into today. North Carolina and Rutgers played each other and each gave up field goals. Oregon State gave up 3 to Boise State tonight. That leaves two teams, one being SMU, with the other team still playing - literally - as I type this at 1 in the morning.

Hawaii.

Hahaha. I just looked at the Hawaii-Colorado score and thought that Colorado got a field goal with a 31 point total, but per the box score, they got a safety and then a 2 point conversion later.

That's correct.

No. Szymanski kicked off after our first score**. I remember specifically remarking that he was kicking off and it was a very high and deep (though into the wind) kick that we covered very well. I honestly did not pay attention to who kicked after that but Szymanski definitely kicked the first kickoff.
