Basically, we showed that we aren't a pushover team anymore. It's not like TCU just made mistakes, SMU made some plays. If we had made just a couple more, we might have seen a different outcome.

The funny thing is they WERE intentionally trying to run up the score as evidenced by going for 4th downs in field goal range TWICE early - and it still didn't do them any good.

Ultimately the game probably did not have much impact on the polls. They (TCU) are #5 mainly as a recognition of Oregon (at least for one week as Stanford will beat them) and are very close in votes to #4.

The score, which is all many see, was basically in line with the spread.

Little Ball of Hate (LBOH) - she can't write and neither can her hubby Marc.
They have trouble being objective when it comes to TCU - total homers.

And that's mostly what their readership wants out in Fort Worth. The goal is not objectivity -- the goal is to sell papers.

I'm not sure you can run up the score if it's the first half and you're losing.
