Rice has always been a greater challenge than their record would indicate. Scoring quick and keeping up the pressure tends to put the brake on that passion thing.

Guys, I know we haven't won at Rice in ages, but we are a different team. Not only are we more talented then we have been over the past 20 years, but JJ has these guys focused and playing well. We should blow Rice out, they really suck.

You can tell the program is at a crossroads right now.
Logically we should beat the stuffing out of Rice, but past failures down in Houston still have people kind of nervous.
A good problem to have, I suppose.

That comment about Rice's passion really sounds like Lou Holtz-speak. You know, looking for something to compliment the opponent about.
