SMU running back Zach Line - who is averaging over 100 yards per game and almost eight yards per carry - missed practice today with a fever. SMU expects to know more tomorrow regarding his status for Saturday's Rice game.

Line has helped ease SMU's offensive struggles in the passing game. If Line can't go, SMU can turn to senior Chris Butler and freshmen Darryl Fields and Kevin Pope. But it would be a blow for the Mustangs, who haven't won at Rice since 1986. Of course, maybe quarterback Kyle Padron and his receivers pick this week to get clicking...

A lot of people around campus have colds. Hopefully that's all Line has since those tend to get better quickly.

Yeah, I'm assuming he'll rest the next 3 days, drink a lot of fluids, and be ready to roll Saturday. There's no way a cold will keep our best RB out of the game Saturday.

I'm sure he'll be fine. As long as he doesn't have to be cared for by out health center....

thought it was a typo. That's nuts. You'd think that would become a problem w/ students going in there w/ all kinds of made up stuff and selling it on the side

Hey Ralph, the health center also misdiagnosed my wife's mono when she was an undergrad. It was a long time ago, but she ended up getting really sick and had to miss about half a semester of school. I too had a bad experience at the health center when I was on the Hilltop. That place is scary.
