what do i mean? Ive read multiple threads where you guys are scared of playing rice... cmon, you guys are no longer a cupcake team who just happens to be in Texas, youre now a Texas team with Texas players, repping the Texas football reputation...

Isn't Rice in Texas??

Once again, I hve to agree with mustang musashi, Rice scares the Hades out of me. They are a Texas team. As a matter of fact, they are a Texas team in a city bigger than little old Dallas. And they have a high flying bird of prey masot and a fantastic band. And all they do is win in Houston when we play them.

I was agreeing with you until you made the comment about a "fantastic band". At that point you lost all credibility.

Assuming our team plays up to its potential, I expect to defeat Rice.

There are two possible reasons for that.

1. We haven't played up to our potential there in 25 years, or
2. We haven't been as good at our potential as Rice was there in 25 years.

Truth is, its a combination of the two, depending on which year you are looking at. Over the last two years I am of the opinion that we have becaome a better team than Rice, so if we don't win Saturday, it comes down to reason number 1 in my mind. If we play to our potential , I expect to win Saturday.

You're right — talent-wise, we should slam Rice.

But this game screams "trap game" to me. We all wish the Ponies had won last week, but it seems like most folks think the Ponies represented themselves well against TCU. Rice is a desperate team that is trying to avoid getting Bailiff fired. Who knows how sick Zach Line is?

We should win, but anyone who thinks we're going to walk in there and crush the Owls just by getting off the bus is crazy. The game will be closer than many of us would like.

I guess Pony Love was right.

We haven't fielded a legitimate team in 25 years, so I think that argument is crap. Most of these kids weren't even alive when SMU got the DP, and I don't think the thought of not having won at Rice in a quarter century will affect their play.

I expected us to destroy Rice.
