Poor man's Wes Welker. Great slot receiver that just simply makes plays. Even though some posters on here call him "nothing more than a mediocre possession receiver" I think Cole has been terrific this season. The trio of Robinson, Beasley, and DJ are as good as it gets in CUSA in my opinion.

I like him, too. He gets more yardage after making catches than most other receivers do. He's not afraid of contact.

It bothers me how we compare race to race. A player is a player no matter what color.

Let me ask this. Why is Zach Line like Mike Alstott? Answer: His skin color.

He's a 5-9 super shifty slot receiver. Who cares if he's white? I just think they have similar skills.

Hopefully he'll get the drops under control and breakout like Welker did in his junior year at Tech (86 rec 1054 yards 12.3 avg 7 TDs).
Junior year through 5 games
Beasley- 23 rec 340 yards 14.8 avg 2 TD
Welker- 29 rec 426 yards 14.7 avg 2 TD

Cole Beasley also admitted to watching and studying Wes Welker and his moves. He mentioned watching his tapes during preseason. That is probably why he made the connection between the two (not because they are both white.) He is definitely a student of the game and I'm glad we have him. Padron seemed to use him as a go to guy at first. Now, I can happily say, he is starting to spread the ball out more and give it to big playmakers like Al and Darius. It's great for a QB to have 3 go to guys...and a few others like haynes etc in the mix.

Uhh...shocking revelation, different people excel at different things. Brandon Stokely, Eddie McCaffery, Ricky Proehl, Wes Welker, Austin Collie, Brian Finneran...how many of them are you going to confuse with Az Hakim, Torry Holt, TO in his younger days, Calvin Johnson, etc. Wow, look at that! People excel at different things! Yay for diversity!
Great to see Cole developing into a consistent threat for the offense. Hope his development continues throughout the year.

If we get the kid out of Abilene, Ronnell Sims, he will be like Wes Welker as well. I hope we get him.
