Fall Break

Why do we always seem to have a home game during Fall Break? Couldn't we adjust either the school calendar or our football schedule so as to not fall on the same weekend? I would rather not have a game over Thanksgiving weekend which is even worse, but the school could move the "break" around the schedule.
This Tulsa game will be very hard to win. They are a good team, yet not a big game for us emotionally. Without the students to make some noise, the stadium could be flat and so the team.

This is an important game if the team wants to compete to a C-USA title, hopefully that's all the motivation they'll need to get up for Tulsa. Anyone know what Jones' expectation for the next 4 game segment of the schedule is?

It's a very valid question why we *always* seem to have home games the week of fall break.

3-1, win the three CUSA games (Rice, Tulsa, Houston) and the loss is Navy since it has nothing to do with the goal of CUSA champions.

The academic calendar is set a year in advance, and if you try moving the calendar around for football, just wait for the faculty reaction.

They're conference games. Just like the shootout weekend. Every single year, SMU requests an away game for the Shootout. Sometimes, the conference says go pound sand. Now you'd be asking CUSA to specially schedule 1/2 of our away conference games each year just because of our fan base? Uhh, yeah they're totally going to do that.

HB, thanks! When are mid-terms, last week or next week? Why are all my kids always going away this weekend? Maybe they should come home and study! They always claim that exams are the week prior to Fall Break.

A lot of mid-terms are this week. Profs like fall break because it gives them a chance to grade exams.

judging by the reaction right now from my profs....they don't really feel as though they have control of the calendar in any way
i think this is an example of how the administration and the AD are NOT on the same page.
I would have been happy to have another week and get the 4 day weekend when we have an away game
