Patrick Fleming talks TDs and Tulsa [video]

Since arriving on the Hilltop as a tight end in Phil Bennett's offense, Patrick Fleming has been the consummate team player. As June Jones' staff tried to adjust old players to new schemes and vice-versa, Fleming has moved from tight end to defensive end / linebacker to wide receiver and back to tight end (even though we're not entirely sure whether June's offense officially has a tight end or not).

All that aside, all the hours of hard work, dedication and willingness to sacrifice for the team were rewarded last week when Fleming caught his first touchdown pass to help put away Rice and advance the Mustangs to 3-2 on the season.

If there's an award for being a great team player, he should get it.

We all like the interviews you guys do with the normal cast of characters (Kyle Padron, Sterling Moore, etc.), and we want more of them. But giving a limelight to a guy like Patrick is awesome. He comes across as a guy who would do absolutely anything to make the team successful, and I couldn't be happier for him to get that first touchdown in front of his friends and family.

I've watched this young man for the past four years and can truely say he has the heart of a champion. I was one of those friends at Rice Stadium this past week and we all came out of our shoes when he caught that touchdown pass. He deserves the recognition.

Pretty cool interview and Patrick is a very outspoken student athlete! That was very cool for him to get that TD in Houston....wish him much success for the rest of the season.
