This morning, Mustangs' defensive coordinator Tom Mason visited with PonyFans.com to give us the scoop on Tulsa's dynamic offense and the keys to stopping them (or at least slowing them down). Enjoy!

Love that guy. We do what we do and we try to do it every week.
YES Sir.

I am so impressed with the D since Mason showed up. Just think what we will have when a few recruits come on this side of the ball. OK D-line... and yes they are coming.

Go Mustang Militia -

Here is a Hawaiian word for our DEFENSE

nockthepooky

that is what we do.
Knock the pooky out of QB's.

Great interview — very thorough and insightful.
I feel better about our defense, knowing Coach Mason is in charge, than I have in a long time.

These suck up comments are laughable. They've got better players to recruit and work with and who fit their system. And they appear to be getting their best every week.

But it was only last week when I read:

1. We're not tackling very well and it was terrible to watch against Rice.

2. The defense is still giving up way too many yards because of X, Y and Z reasons.

3. The secondary still has issues because of X, Y and Z reasons.

So did you all have Tom Mason's back then?

Are some of you suffering from short-term memory loss or do you just live for the moment and refuse to acknowledge what your concerns/complaints were?

Fans -- We love you one week and then we hate you the next.

Actually, a lot of us (myself included) DID have Coach Mason's back.

Although it doesn't satisfy your need to stir every pot you see, surely even you can see the enormous improvement in the defense since he arrived.

Yes, some of the players are better, but he has done a terrific job.

Sir, if you were reading, I actually pointed that out last week and actually after the Texas Tech.

In fact, my words after the Texas Tech game were, 'This defense has a chance to get better.''

One, please cut and paste my negative comments. We need lineman, we all know that, and I do not know how we are doing so well with the roster we have.

Mason is fantastic and game [planning with the talent he has.

Just remember the Hawaii bowl... The D put the game out af reach by shutting down the wolfpack.

Love Ya George P.

Tom Mason is greatness — as a coach, and as an interview.
These interviews PonyFans.com does? Also greatness.
