Sterling Moore. His presence is such that half the field of battle becomes his domain.

As of now, I think it would be Davis because of the stats he's putting up. Granted, Moore's "stats" are likely not as impressive because he forces the opposing QB to target WRs that he's not covering.

Honestly, I wouldn't care who it is because both of them bring it every week.

Very true. It's been awesome watching that guy develop over the last 3 seasons. I've kinda wondered given his size and the strength he's developed if he has a shot at the next level.

I think this is more of a POY vs MVP debate.

The MVP of the defense is Moore because of how different our defense looks when he is in, and how "valuable" his presence is to the team (and an overall weak secondary). He plays so smart and offenses seem to respect him.

The Player of the Year on defense thus far is Davis because of the raw numbers he is putting up. He's on the verge of being a dominant player and I can't remember the last time we had a Sophomore you could say that about.

I think Taylor has a shot to play at the next level. He has great size and he has been steadily improving each year.

I don’t think the line is getting enough credit here the linebackers are making a lot of plays and piling up stats but the guys up front is a big part of what makes that possible. In years past we used to see out SS and FS as the leading tackler which I think was indicative of the lack of production up front.

Nice.

And considering the other "2" on the other side of the ball, we really do seem to be betting high on a pair of deuces.

I think you are spot on on the praise of the D-Line. Especially in a 3-4 defense, one of their main goals, especially on running plays is to occupy the O-line, so the LBs can shoot the gaps and make the plays. Making the tackle/play is secondary. I have been impressed with Frazier as well. With all the questions we had about the NG position going into the season he has done well. Unfortunately, there seems to be a drop-off when he goes out, but hopefully we can build some depth at that position in the coming years.

Defensive Player of the Year: JaGared Davis-he disrupts the opposing offense all day long even when he doesn't make the tackle
Defensive MVP: Sterling Moore (because we'd be in big trouble w/o him)
Defensive Unsung Hero: Taylor Reed He is perhaps the most unsung stud we've had around here in awhile. When you start watching replays he just makes play after play

it's nice that we have enough playmakers to make this a debate.
